Lynsey and Benny win team silver at Pony Club UK Finals

Lynsey and Benny travelled to Kelsall Hill Cheshire to compete in the P.C. UK Team Showjumping Finals. After a long 13 hour trek all arrived safely and were quick to settle into the accomodation for the week-end. The accomodation for both horses and people was superb and the camp site soon looked like a scene from an old cowboy movie. The wagons were put in a circle with the tents were in the centre!
Next day was a very relaxed affair getting our bearings, walking the cross country course, getting the ponies out for a walk and some grass and having a siesta!
Saturday morning was a 6am start; getting ready for the Tack & Turnout inspection at 8:24 and our first round of show jumping at 9:54. We were 4th team to jump and Benny was 2nd to go. He had a "Benny moment" so a total of 4 faults and a team score of 4 faults after the first round.
Second round was over a very tricky but well designed course on the side of a hill!! Lots of ponies found the terrain difficult reflected in some high scores. Again our team rose to the occassion and ended up with a score of zero and an overall two round total of 4 faults This was the leading score until team 26 they also had 4 faults so 2 teams into a possible jump off so far and this was the case until the last team of the day to go, they also ended up with 4! This meant well rested ponies and four very chilled-out riders had to be prepared for a three team jump off. After a series of high fives and a lot of carry on they set to the task of the jump off, again they finished on a zero score but were not quite fast enough so finished a fantastic second out of 37 teams.
What a result for the whole team of competitors, parents and supporters ably led by our D. C. Mrs Eavan White. Emotions were high and the podium photos will be good to see.
Well done to all, good job.
